Dressing for Mardi Gras
|
Mardi Gras 2012 |
Down here on the Gulf Coast, we are in the midst of Mardi Gras! I realize for most of the country this time of year is all about the Super Bowl, but for us, the Super Bowl is something we squeeze in between Krewe balls and Mardi Gras parades. While New Orleans has cornered the market on Fat Tuesday celebrations, in every little town up and down the coast people are eating King Cakes, drinking champagne and donning beautiful gowns and crazy costumes. It's tradition!
All these parties mean lots of fun and lots of fancy clothes! I would love to get a new dress for every one we go to, but in the end, that's not always realistic. When I do try to pick up something new, I look for versatile pieces that can go from winter to summer (that's a whole other festival season), and I always look for a deal! Below are some dresses that I'm considering for this year's balls. Which one do you like?
I love all of your choices! The black is my style of dress but that turquoise is SO my color. I'm from the Gulf Coast too and this is such a fun time of year. I love the festivals and parades and I'm busting out my Creole recipes. Thanks for sharing at Best of the Blogosphere. Hope to see you back this week!
ReplyDeleteI love all of these dresses but especially the black one and the off-white one! Soooo pretty! Thanks for joining the Celebrate Southern Linkup last week!
