Last week, Shelby Lynne played an intimate, local music venue, Vinyl Music Hall, and Scott graciously agreed to stay home with the kids so that I could go. The night was warm, downtown was full of energy, and I felt like a kid again getting to do something special on a school night. Doors opened at 7:00, and the little lady with the big voice took stage around 8:00. A little bit hippie-chic, a little bit country crooner with all the heart and soul of a blues matron, Shelby Lynne's voice and style are treat for both the ears and eyes.
I have to admit that I would dress like a rock star every day if I could. I love that effortless, edgy vibe. Ms. Lynne simply wore a white shirt and jeans paired with a large rhinestone belt buckle, stiletto boots and layers bracelets and necklaces. (The necklaces were so cool, and after the show, someone in her entourage said that she designs them herself.) Everything about her screamed rock-star chic, and I loved it!
Check out these videos below to hear come clips from the show, and if you get a chance to go to Vinyl, don't pass it up. We are lucky to have this kind of venue!
