My Weekend in the Big Easy

Almost there!
One of the great things about living in Pensacola is that we are less than three hours from New Orleans, LA, making the Big Easy a very easy get-away spot.  My good friend Sara and her husband Ryan were in town celebrating his birthday, so Scott and I snuck over for a night.  It was so much fun to be with old friends and to just relax in an amazing city.  Scott always says that one night in New Orleans is never enough and three nights is one too many, and he's right!  I wish we could have stayed one more night.  Nevertheless, we managed to hit a lot of our favorite spots, and the good news is I know we'll be back soon!

The line is always long at Mother's, but the gumbo is worth the wait.

The Rum House is a great place for a break when shopping on Magazine Street.  I recommend the Rum House Salad and any of the Caribbean-inspired tacos.  My favorites are the Brisket and the Fried Oyster, which are perfect with a NOLA Blonde.

For a sweet treat, I love Sucre!  They are famous for their macaroons, but their chocolates are to die for, too.

For brunch, we headed into the French Quarter to Stanley for their Eggs Benedict with fried oysters (Eggs Stanley).

Dinner was Pollo di Parma at Tommy's Cuisine.

Until next time!
