Oh Happy Day on DeBordieu

I have weddings on my mind, possibly because our 10th anniversary is this week.  My inspiration today comes from a very special wedding that took place in DeBordieu, South Carolina.  The one time I was matron of honor. The wedding of one of my dearest friends that I lived with all of college, spent a summer with in Europe and spent a year skiing with in Lake Tahoe.

The dress, Yves St. Laurent, was almost as beautiful as the girl wearing it.  It was truly perfect for a beach wedding.  The groom's sisters and I were the bride's attendants.  We wore Catherine Malandrino dresses that were flattering and comfortable (I have reworn mine multiple times).  The ceremony took place on the beach with the bride's uncle officiating.  The Plantation Singers singing "Oh Happy Day" combined with the sound of the wind and waves made for a truly magical ceremony.  Afterwards, the wedding party and guests made their way down the beach to the tented reception.  Following cocktails and a seated dinner, The Breakfast Club brought everyone to the dance floor for some classic 80s music.  We celebrated and danced into the night.  Much to our surprise, the band even joined us back at our house for a nightcap before they hit the road.
