Wino Wednesday

Today, we are excited to link up with Kids & Cabernet for Wino Wednesday!

Kids and Cabernet

I shared this wine, Honig Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon, a couple of months ago in my Girl's Weekend  post.  For quite some time, I have been loyal to the pinot noir grape.  I am not saying that I never drink anything else but if I am buying or ordering chances are, I am picking a pinot noir.  On this particular night, most of us were having filets so I decided to order a cabernet sauvignon.  It was so delicious and made me second guess my pinot streak!  I have had one bottle of this since our dinner at Bijoux.  Right out of the bottle, I was a little disappointed.  After some time and at the right temperature, it proved to be as good as I remembered it.

Also linking up with the beautiful ladies at Pumps & Pushups.

Honig Napa Vallet Cabernet Sauvignon 2012

Plenty of ripe, wild berry and plum aromas and flavors, framed by vanilla, spice, and toasty oak. Lush mid-palate tannins flow into a lengthy finish accented by bright fruit.
Blend: 89% Cabernet Sauvignon, 4% Cabernet Franc, 7% Petit Verdot

    Critical Acclaim

Wine Spectator - "On solid footing, with sassy tannins, this offers a core of mocha, blackberry and dark berry flavors that are pure, dense and chewy, accented by tobacco leaf and cigar box notes. Drink now through 2023. "

  1. I need to be more adventurous with my wine. I'm a basic Pinot Grigio girl, but I need to break into some reds!

    1. I love Pinot Grigio too! Have you tried a rosé? That might be a fun way to ease into reds. Also, great in the summer because you can chill them!

    1. It's a great one for sure. Definitely a special occasion wine for me because of the price tag but it is worth it!

  6. Definitely adding this to my must-try list. I love cab, but am just starting to branch into Pinot, so I am curious to see what a pinot-lover's cab tastes like! I saw your rose recc earlier--what is your fave right now? xoxo Emily

    1. Hmmm, I'm trying to think of a good rosé to recommend. If you like sparkling, try the Francois Montand Brut Rosé! You can find it at the Seville Wine Shop or Aragon. It is a favorite of Emily's and mine. I will let you know if another one comes to mind.
