I picked up this Joel Gott Unoaked Chardonnay in Port St. Joe last weekend. Usually, California Chardonnays are too oaky for me but this one was aged in stainless steel and DID NOT undergo malolactic fermentation which results in a more buttery flavor.
This wine is 100% Chardonnay with grapes sourced from Monterey, Sonoma and Napa.
Winemaking notes:
Our Chablis-style Chardonnay does not undergo malolactic fermentation and is aged in stainless steel. This style of winemaking preserves the natural acidity, and purity and flavors of the fruit, resulting in an elegant, naturally balanced wine.
You know A LOT about wine. I understood very little of that. Haha! Someday it is on my list to learn about wine.
ReplyDeleteHa! Thanks! It is a subject that I am very interested in and I have worked in a couple of wine stores. The most important thing is that it tastes good to you :)

What a beautiful photo! I can feel the chill on the glass. Chardonnays are a favorite white of mine. Thanks for linking up at Wino Wednesday.
ReplyDeleteHi! Thank you! This one was great-some chards are way too oaky and buttery for me :) Thanks for stopping by.
