One Top, Two Outfits

August arrived with a vengeance, and the heat is brutal down here in the South!  My car actually registered the outside temp at 103 as I was driving down the road the other day.  Maybe I'm just over the heat or maybe it's the back-to-school pictures starting to appear on Facebook and Instagram, but I find myself dreaming of jeans and scarves and crisp fall mornings.  I know it will be months before I can comfortable sport the new fall looks, so in the meantime, I like to find transitional pieces that can be worn easily with shorts or layered up come cooler weather.

On a recent trip to North Carolina, I got to try out this top with two different outfits.  We were in the mountains part of the time and in Winston-Salem part of time.  A cool, rainy morning in the mountains called for rain boots and a scarf, while summer time in Winston is alway hot, hot, hot.  Despite the heat, we spent the day in Reynolda Village enjoying the beautiful gardens and wonderful shops.  

I love the detail and the flutter sleeves on this top.  It goes great with cut-off shorts or with boots and jeans.  It is one that I know I will wear into the fall.  Until then, I'll be blasting the A/C and spending plenty of time on the beach!
