OOTD: Holiday party dressing

Online: Waldorf dress BySMITH | Available locally: Bluetique

I am feeling just a tad bit overwhelmed this week. Who's with me? Did someone say nine days until Christmas? The only thing I can proudly say is that I mailed my Christmas cards today and somehow managed to get the teacher gifts purchased and delivered.  My youngest has been sick with a stomach bug for the past three days and I know all of the moms reading can empathize. Last night when I was awake after one round of throw up I started reading some articles online about yoga and relaxation.

Viparita Karani (legs up the wall) is a great pose for all of us to try.  Grab a couple of think blankets, fold them long way and place them against the wall.  Sit with your hips close to the wall and then swing both legs up with heels resting against the wall.  Open your arms to each side, close your eyes, and breathe.  If this does not make sense, follow this link to a description on The Yoga Journal. This pose is great if you are feeling stressed, tired, or have been sitting or standing for a long period.  I mean, who is not feeling stressed and tired this time of year? Take some time for yourself to try this pose before you dress for your holiday party. You will not regret it, I promise.

On to the point! I wanted to share this fab Waldorf Dress bySMITH.  It is a cheetah print with an empire waist AND POCKETS! I think it is perfect for a holiday party.  We are going to a retirement party this weekend for my father-in-law and I think this dress fits the bill. Fun in a conservative sort of way.  Sometimes, I think people overdo it when dressing for work-related holiday parties.  Less is more when it comes to skin, leg and décolletage.  Pick just one, please!
