Crawfish for a Cause

Last weekend, we attended a great event called Crawfish for a Cause benefitting the Rally Foundation for Childhood Cancer Research.  Three friends and local businessmen recently started a business that specializes in cajun boils, Cordova Crawfish Company.  They purchased all the industrial equipment required to accommodate large events and are even preparing to be the sole provider of crawfish for the 2016 Pensacola Crawfish Festival.  They have their own combination of spices and some secret techniques that make their crawfish extra delicious.  In fact, there were some Louisiana residents that attended the event on Saturday and said the crawfish were the best they had ever tasted.

Did you know that only 4% of the National Cancer Institute funds are dedicated to childhood cancer? Neither did I, until a precious little four year old in our community was diagnosed with Ewings Sarcoma in May of 2013.  Her name is Carolyn and you can see her story here, Praying for Carolyn.  She and her family went through a grueling year of surgeries, chemotherapy, transfusions, and extended hospital stays.  She is happy and healthy now, two years NED (no evidence of disease) but there are so many children still fighting this battle.  We can help raise awareness!  #morethan4
