Here are my five on Friday. I've picked a book, some music, a wine, a movie and a fashion must-have. Let me know what you think!
1. Book
Dead Wake by Erik Larson
I've been dying to read this book on the last crossing of the Lusitania. I love WWI, Lost Generation and WWII era books, so although I've only just started it, I know that I'm going to enjoy it. Plus, I am a big fan of Erik Larson's The Devil in the White City and In the Garden of Beasts.
2. Music
Chris Stapleton's Traveller
By now you've probably heard about Chris Stapleton's incredible performance with Justin Timberlake on the CMA Awards last week. It was everything that is good and gritty and real about country music. His album Traveller is my kind of country music.
3. Wine
Francois Montand
I always say that this is the house champagne at my house! It's technically a sparkling wine, but Francois Montand was originally from Champagne where he learned the techniques of making a great bottle of bubbly. At around $12 a bottle, it's a steal!
4. Movie
Bridge of Spies
Before I was married and had kids, one of my favorite things to do was to go to the movies by myself! I would usually try to time it around lunch so I could indulge in buttery popcorn and a coke while the lights dimmed and the real world faded away. Last weekend, I snuck off to see Bridge of Spies by myself, and I was so happy! Of course, I knew of Gary Powers, but I had no idea of the details of his story.
