The Last of NYC

I have an assortment of photos and things to share from NYC.  Bear with me, I am kind of hopping around today.  Saturday lunch was Freds at Barneys.  The scene is great and the food is even better.  I had the Baltimore Crabcakes with coleslaw, remoulade sauce and Belgian pommel frites (to go with my Belgian beer :).  After lunch, we strolled through Barneys.  I wanted to get my girls some of the cute barrettes they have in the children's section.  The selection was a little low (no sparkly barrettes with the letter S) so Elizabeth took me to an ice cream shoppe in her old neighborhood where they are also sold.  A la mode is an adorable little ice cream and clothing store for children.  Pretty brilliant, right?!?  I found the sought after S barrette and somehow resisted the ice cream (which I was told was a HUGE mistake).

I would be remiss if I did not include our trip to Le District.  Le District, opened earlier this year, is attached to Brookfield Place and has restaurants and everything you would want to find in a French Market.  We watched the sunset over the Hudson from the Terrace at Beaubourg.  The Salmon Rillettes and the Mini Croque Monsieurs hit the spot after our long afternoon of walking and visiting the Whitney.  From Le District, we walked to meet a dear college friend at Racines in Tribeca. We were so busy talking that I did not bother to snap a picture of my meal but I did capture the Sauterne that I had with our dessert.

One of my favorite beers ever...love the Chilewich placemats too

    1. They are great! My four year old is growing her bangs so they are a must! As for resisting ice cream, I ate and drank my way through NYC so the ice cream was just the ONE thing I resisted that weekend.
