My girl...just turned 10. Double Digits! She is officially a tween...too old for toys and too young for boys. She blew through one round of braces, just got her ears pierced and wears almost the same size shoe as me. She is wise beyond her years yet still innocent. She is growing up before my eyes. Most days, after school she wants to wear t-shirts and sport shorts and I am ok with that (I guess). We have had many disagreements that began with me asking her to wear something besides a t-shirt and sports shorts. BUT WHAT DO I WEAR? THIS IS TOO SMALL. THAT ONE ITCHES. I DON'T HAVE ANYTHING THAT FITS! UGH! Cue her falling to the floor with dramatic flair.
Dressing tweens for holidays, church, and parties can be very challenging. I do not want her to look six but I definitely do not want her to look SIXTEEN! I find myself ordering multiple styles and sizes and hoping that one thing will work. Our go-to shops are J.Crew/Crewcuts, Gap Kids, Crewcuts Factory and Target. Nordstrom also has great selections for this age (we are obsessed with the Tucker & Tate undies and bralettes). We also love Pensacola store Bluetique and Angelique Kids in New Orleans. It is fun to shop for her but I definitely try to keep in mind the fact that nothing fits for long. Thank goodness I can rationalize my purchases by saying we can pass it down to her little sister!
Be sure to check my picks at the bottom of the post, from holiday to everyday.
