OOTD: Equipment Shirt

I developed a love for button downs after my second child. They are more flattering than a clingy t-shirt and much more forgiving.  I have casual plaid ones and dressier silk ones but my absolute favorites are made by the French label Equipment. I could wear one every day and be so happy.  They are great with jeans or nice pants or a pencil skirt...the options are limitless.

When we were in New Orleans for my birthday, my friends and I did some shopping on Magazine Street.  We went into Jean Therapy and one of the cute girls working was wearing the Bright White Star Print button down with distressed boyfriend cutoffs.  It was so cute and I was super excited to find one in my size on the rack. Sold! Even better, when I checked out it was 20% off!

I will wear it in the fall and winter with jeans and a jacket or sweater but for now I paired it with black shorts to go to the PCC Farm to Table dinner last weekend.  Jeans just aren't happening yet in Florida.

Sale, bargain, deal, discount...whatever you call it, this time of year, every store from the Gap to Neiman Marcus is having a sale.  The bargains are incredible, and it never hurts when there is an additional promo code.  Stores such as J Crew and LOFT are known for offering discounts on top of the already-marked-down merchandise.  As the marketers begin pushing the next season, consumers can use opportunity to pick up that piece they've wanted all season or even stock up on staples, such as lingerie, denim or simple tees.  Of course, these sales require a little more digging, but if you don't want to take the time there are plenty of personal shoppers (including Waltz Me To Heaven) who will do the dirty work for you.

Be My Valentine

With three kids, three cats, one dog and at least two jobs, it can be hard to make time for one husband.  Yet every year on Valentine's Day, Scott and I try to steal a couple moments for each other.  Those special moments have gone from elaborate dates that involved fancy dinners and concert tickets and champagne and limo rides to a quick, but very appreciated, lunch date.  Since Valentine's Day is on a Saturday this year, maybe we'll go crazy and get a babysitter, or maybe we'll just do a champagne lunch.  I think this outfit would be perfect for that!
