New Year, New Skin

My skin care routine has been lacking lately.  In need of serum, night cream, and eye cream, a visit to Sephora has been on the horizon.  Earlier this week, I made the trip.  Skin care purchases can be daunting because of the cost.  One area that I cut cost is with cleanser.  I have been told by multiple aestheticians that it is only on your face for a short time so something basic will do the job just fine.  In the evening, I use a few pumps of this Aveeno cleanser on my Clarisonic.  In the morning, splashing with cold water is sufficient.  Once, I read fifteen times but most of the time I do not have the patience.  I love the convenience of wipes and I just picked up these from Ole Henriksen for nights when I am too tired or rushed mornings.

After reading many labels and talking with a salesperson, I decided on these three Ole Henriksen products.  I was mainly interested in the serum but I found these three together in a gift pack for a great price.  I am looking forward to seeing the benefits of the vitamin c in the serum!

Drumroll...I have high hopes for the Peter Thomas Roth eye serum.  It claims to "improve the look of lost fullness, hollowness, wrinkles, crow's feet, crepiness, and darkness." I'll keep you posted!
I also replenished my L'Occitane Almond Skin Oil.  Spray all over after showering.  It gives your skin a great glow and smells DIVINE.
I hope this helps if your skin care routine is in need of some revitalization!  Nothing motivates me to wash my face more than a great new skin care regime.  Here's to taking better care of our skin in 2016!

My Favorite Products to take on a Beach Trip

Less than four weeks until Memorial Day and our first beach trip of the year.  We have a crew of 18, eight adults and ten children.  It is definitely a crowd and so much fun. This year, one of us will be eight months pregnant.  Thankfully, there is a hospital nearby in case the little peanut decides to make an early appearance.

One would think that growing up minutes from the Gulf of Mexico I would be used to putting on a swimsuit but I dread it every year.  I am trying to ramp up my exercise routine and be more careful about what I put in my mouth! This was NOT the case last night at my friend's Mexican Fiesta which consisted of dips, margaritas, Mexican lasagna and brownies.  Yikes! And what about that burger, truffle fries, and milkshake that I had for lunch today at Tin Cow?  Major 24 hour derailment! Oh well. Tomorrow is a new day.

I have a shopping cart full of swimsuits on J.Crew's website.  Multiple sizes, styles and cuts.  I plan to pull the trigger tomorrow right after I hit gym.  Today, I am sharing some of my must-have beach products.  My favorite, new and old, to keep my skin and hair hydrated after hours in the sun.  The Peter Thomas Roth powder is new, I just picked it up at Sephora last week.  It has an spf of 45, anti-aging components, and can be used to set makeup.  I was unfamiliar with SPF in a powder form and a little skeptical. After spending yesterday morning in the sun, I learned that it does work.
