Less than four weeks until Memorial Day and our first beach trip of the year. We have a crew of 18, eight adults and ten children. It is definitely a crowd and so much fun. This year, one of us will be eight months pregnant. Thankfully, there is a hospital nearby in case the little peanut decides to make an early appearance.
One would think that growing up minutes from the Gulf of Mexico I would be used to putting on a swimsuit but I dread it every year. I am trying to ramp up my exercise routine and be more careful about what I put in my mouth! This was NOT the case last night at my friend's Mexican Fiesta which consisted of dips, margaritas, Mexican lasagna and brownies. Yikes! And what about that burger, truffle fries, and milkshake that I had for lunch today at Tin Cow? Major 24 hour derailment! Oh well. Tomorrow is a new day.
I have a shopping cart full of swimsuits on J.Crew's website. Multiple sizes, styles and cuts. I plan to pull the trigger tomorrow right after I hit gym. Today, I am sharing some of my must-have beach products. My favorite, new and old, to keep my skin and hair hydrated after hours in the sun. The Peter Thomas Roth powder is new, I just picked it up at Sephora last week. It has an spf of 45, anti-aging components, and can be used to set makeup. I was unfamiliar with SPF in a powder form and a little skeptical. After spending yesterday morning in the sun, I learned that it does work.
I am so excited that the kickoff to summer is just around the corner! I bet you'll look fabulous in your swim suit! That fiesta you had sounds amazing, I would have been right there with ya girl!

Thanks for stopping by our blog! I'm always torn between yummy food/drinks and workouts. Margaritas and cheese dip are a major weakness for me.

DeleteGreat suggestions! I picked up the DryBar dry shampoo when you suggested it a few months ago and I have been very pleased. And I think I now know that a good SPF if equally important for the ballpark and the beach trip - very intrigued with the Peter Thomas Roth powder SPF. Thanks to you and Emily for your great tips!
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad that you like the DryBar dry shampoo. I love it! Yes, the sun at the ballpark can be brutal :)
