Five Fashionable Resolutions for the New Year

Cacharel Bow Detail Shirt

We were recently asked by Farfetch to participate in a contest focusing on our style and fashion resolutions for the New Year.  What woman does not have goals or changes she would like to make in her life...physical, mental, emotional or spiritual? Today, we are focusing on some easy inspirations. Don't worry...we will not be getting all heavy on you.  It is the holidays!  Let's look at some beautiful clothes!

1.   I have been on the hunt for a bow detail blouse for a couple of months.  Silk tops are so classic and I love the feminine detail of the pussy bow.  One of these would be a great staple in my wardrobe.

Valentino...I mean how gorgeous is this?

2.   I need to find a watch!  I am always late.  In 2016, I resolve to find a good, comfortable, oversize watch and make a serious effort to be better at managing my time.

3.   I try to run and workout regularly and nothing keeps the motivation up like fresh new exercise clothes! I will restock as mine are getting to a point where they just never seem to smell clean.

4.  I resolve to bring more structure into my life (I tend to float along wherever to wind takes me only to realize I'm not where I want to be.  Does that make sense?), and I'm starting with my handbag.  A structured tote is the bag for me in 2016!

5.   Last, but not least!  Those things I wear at night.  At this point, comfort is my first requirement, but I also like to look somewhat cute when the children are nestled in their beds.  A new robe is a must and some new pajamas for 2016.

Branching Out

Not too long ago our hometown of Pensacola, Florida, was a sleepy little town with beautiful beaches but not much else to offer.  Our shops and restaurants were mostly boring chains.  Our nightlife was limited.  Our downtown was seriously lacking in energy and vitality.  Fortunately, all that has changed.  We're still a pretty small town, but the revitalization we are experiencing is contagious, and it seems like everyone is excited to a party of pushing Pensacola forward.

To do our part, Traci and I have been exploring Pensacola in search of everything from the best burger to the hottest jeans to the freshest produce, and we've been sharing our findings on a local, online news outlet called Pensacola Today.  It's been a lot of fun to exercise our writing chops and even more fun to do the research!

Below is an excerpt from our latest endeavor and links to our other articles.  We hope you like them, and please let us know your favorite!

Farm Fresh: Keeping It Local

Slow food, farm fresh, farm to table...  whatever you call it, the movement to bring local produce, meats and dairy has roots in Pensacola.  Last weekend, Traci and I spent some time strolling the corridor of the Palafox Market, which takes place every Saturday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.  We were overwhelmed by the colorful fresh fruits and vegetables.  We were captivated by the variety of meats from chicken to beef to pork.  We were tempted by the thick, golden honey that seemed to be everywhere we looked, and we enjoyed every sample of delicious breads, jams, salsas, dips and spreads that we tasted.  READ MORE
