When it comes to Christmas music and movies, I can't help but feeling the older the better. I love to watch It's a Wonderful Life, Miracle on 34th Street and, Scott's favorite, The Bishop's Wife. They are all wonderful stories with classic Hollywood stars, but it's White Christmas that tugs at my heartstrings. Every year for as long as I can remember, I have watched White Christmas almost daily between Thanksgiving and Christmas (and to be completely honest, sometimes I watch it in January and Febuary, and sometimes in March...you get my drift). I drive Scott crazy with White Christmas running on repeat in our house the entire holiday season. It's just so romantic! The war is over. They're all in show business. It's set in a Vermont ski lodge. Bing's voice is so beautifully smooth. Danny Kaye is a brilliant comic. Vera Ellen has all the moves on and off the floor, and Rosemary Clooney is beautiful and elegant.
I love to dream about a nice glass of champagne, Scott in a tuxedo, a beautiful cocktail dress, Bing and Frank singing Christmas carols and a fabulous party. What are your holiday favorites? Merry Christmas!
