One Big Happy Family

For the last several years we have spent Labor Day Weekend at Seaside with my parents and our good friends, the Merrills.  Six kids, plus four parents, plus two grandparents makes for one big happy family of sorts.  I learned a long time ago to throw caution to wind on weekends like this.  Bedtimes are out the window, eating habits become very questionable and fun is usually had by all!  I'm pretty sure there was one day that my three-year-old had a doughnut for breakfast, ice cream for lunch and cake for dinner.  There may have been some mac & cheese in there somewhere, but for the most part, she was on a strict sugar diet. (Don't worry, we are back on the wagon with grilled chicken with spinach risotto for dinner tonight.)  Each night after the little ones were finally in bed, the parents got to sneak out for a night cap and some adult time that was full of laughter.  I love weekends like this when you come home exhausted but filled with happy memories.  Here are some scenes from the weekend!

PS- You may notice my little watermelon has a new self-styled haircut, and when asked about it, she says, "I think I did a fabulous job!"

I love this picture of the kids, and you would not believe how difficult it was to get!

A lovely example of brotherly love!

And, little brother fights back!  Notice the perfectly-posed teenagers!

She would only smile if she could wear the sunglasses!

Two bathing beauties!

Two of my beach babies!

There was definitely way too much screen time this weekend, but now they are back to reality with no iPads or tablets until Friday!

One of many ice creams cones!

He was so proud of this photo bomb!

    1. Thanks, Biana! The photo took some effort, and the "big girls" deserve the credit for corralling the little ones. Cheers, E
