Chambray Dress

I have a chambray Bella Dahl button down I wear so much. It is so soft and easy to throw on in a rush.  I would LOVE a chambray dress like the one pictured below.  The scarf caught my eye on J.Crew and I thought they would work well together.  The boots are great...check out the price. I think it is reasonable for such a cute boot.  Have you checked out the leather goods at Ann Mashburn?  There are some great leather cuffs in really fabulous colors.  I think that leather cuffs and bands are a great way for an on-the-go mom to accessorize and add life to an otherwise plain outfit.  They are soft and do not get in the way.  Check out the product board and links below.

The Pencil Skirt

I love pencil skirts.  Everyone should have at least one in their closet.  My favorite is a contrast-waist black wool Narciso Rodriguez that I bought at Sarah's many years ago.  I can wear it almost anywhere from a luncheon to a cocktail party depending on how I style it.  Pencil skirts are classic and make great investment pieces.  I just found this interesting article about the history of the pencil skirt. "If you love the pencil skirt, you will enjoy the unusual history of this timeless fashion" (Sew-Simple.com, 2010).  Enjoy!

Visions of Spring

The warm weather that we experienced over the weekend on the Gulf Coast has me dreaming of spring.  As I was scrolling through the new arrivals on Shopbop, I saw this T by Alexander Wang boatneck dress.  I had a similar dress in olive green a couple of summers ago and it was one of my favorite pieces. It is also available in grey and black if the white makes you nervous! I paired it with a straw bag and slip on sneakers for day and a bib necklace, clutch and wedges for night. This dress is so simple and versatile.  It is the perfect casual beach dress for day or night. Did I mention that it is only $89?
