I recently showed off my new Vince Espadrille Wedges, which are just one of the pairs I keep in constant rotation this time of year. It seems that if I'm not in flats, I'm in wedges. Being 5'3", I love the extra height they allow without killing my feet. There is still something alluring about a sexy stiletto, but for comfort, you can't beat a wedge. Here are some of my picks for this summer!

An Outfit For Festival Season
Festival season is upon, and music fans everywhere are enjoying the sounds of their favorite bands and sporting stylish, boho-chic festival ensembles. Who hasn't seen the images of Kendall Jenner from the first weekend of Coachella? Although I won't be traveling to California for weekend 2 of Coachella (but I hope to someday), Scott and I are headed to New Orleans for Jazz Fest with hopes of catching acts like Pearl Jam, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Van Morrison, Anders Osborne, Eric Lindell and more. My looks for the weekend will not doubt pale in comparison to the Hollywood starlets, but nevertheless, I've had fun coming up with my own festival ensembles. Here's a little something I've come up with for this weekend. What's your festival look?
I plan on pulling out his little getup from last summer for at least one day of Jazz Fest. It's always so hot in New Orleans this time of year that minimal clothing is a must. Though, I have this weird thing about sandals at music festivals. I really prefer to wear a closed-toe shoe like a pair of Toms or a cute sneaker. Maybe it's all the dust or maybe it's the thought of standing in a dirty bathroom, but I really don't like my toes exposed. Am I crazy?
These are my must haves for a spring or summer music festival.
A flirty boho-chic top
A light-weight hat for sun protection
Fun, mix-and-match bracelets
A smallish cross-body bag
Comfy sandals or sneakers

Rebecca Taylor Long Sleeve Silk Blouse
There is just something about a pale pink silk top. This one exudes femininity with sheer sleeves and ties at the wrists. When I see a beautiful top like this I immediately think white jeans but it would look fabulous with so many things. I love this one by Rebecca Taylor. Bluetique, one of our favorite local stores, recently picked up this line and we have had so much fun trying it all on. The ladder stitching from the black dress in Friday's post is also seen here on the sleeves.
I love combos of pink/red/orange (in case you can't tell). The colors of beautiful sunsets. I think the clutch adds a lot to the subdued colors of this outfit. Pairing white jeans with this top was a no brainer for me. How would you style it?

OOTD: Camouflage and a Dragon
In case you have not noticed, we have been talking a lot about food and a little about fashion lately on WMTH. Now that we are heading into a new season, we are ready to talk fashion again and we are sharing our outfits from yesterday's post on Tastemakers Take Downtown. While we are ready for fall's more subtle hues, it is still hot in our hometown and we have to take that into consideration when dressing. Emily & I both opted for sleeveless dresses in colors from the dark green/grey family. Shop our looks at the bottom of the post.

I love this bag from Joy Gryson's IIIbeca line. I bought it last fall at Scout and it still looks brand new. |

OOTD: Fit & Flare
![]() |
Dress: Parker, Clutch: Clare Vivier, Shoes: Schutz, Sunglasses: Tory Burch |
I found this fit and flare dress by Parker at Saks during a sale in February. Honestly, it was 75% off. I bought it to wear to a Mardi Gras Ball and dressed it up with black heels, jewelry and a mink wrap. Last week, I decided to try it with wedges for my friend's birthday luncheon. I wore minimal jewelry and carried my new Clare Vivier clutch from Fig. By the way, I also scored the clutch a 75% off! I think the dress transitioned well from February to May. Shop my look at the bottom of this post. Have a great day!

This bracelet was a gift that my in-laws brought me from San Miguel, Mexico. It is hammered gold with black onyx stones. |

Figue and Girl's Night Out
Here's another great look that can be found at Fig! This is the Jasmine Tunic in Chocolate Trellis from Figue. I love this line that is new to Fig this season. The designer has an amazing resume that includes graduating from Parsons School of Design, interning at Yves St. Laurent in Paris, and seven years guiding design development at Tory Burch. It is obvious that so much knowledge and experience went into the development of Figue. The fabric on this tunic was hand printed in India by artisans. The Clare V. clutch is the perfect compliment to the tunic's red bugle beads. Not only are the Current Elliott jeans are a great staple, they are also the perfect length to show your summer sandal or wedge.
We hope to see you at Fig this Thursday night from 4-7! Come sip bubbly and shop the beautiful new spring pieces at Fig.
